DARTS Operation
The Doppler DFer has a resolution of 22.5 degrees. There are 16 22.5 degree wedges in it’s compass.
DARTS attempts to increase the resolution of the bearings by to detecting the edge when the signal moves from one wedge to the next wedge.
Bearings determined by edge detection are given a confidence “bonus” over those based simply on the active wedge.
