DARTS Operation

• The Doppler DFer has a resolution of 22.5 degrees. There are 16 22.5 degree wedges in it’s compass.

• DARTS attempts to increase the resolution of the bearings by to detecting the edge when the signal moves from one wedge to the next wedge.

• Bearings determined by edge detection are given a confidence “bonus” over those based simply on the active wedge.
